About Shiitake
Requires a browning phase — the block must develop a brown skin before fruiting. Requires cold shock (48-hour refrigerator soak) to trigger fruiting. The block must be removed entirely from its bag for fruiting. Prone to Trichoderma. May produce deformed fruits on masters mix (too nitrogen-rich).
